Many people have contributed to the creation of this “Brighton Technical School History” website.
Acknowledgements
Myer Bloom, a former teacher at Brighton Technical School, (renamed Brighton Bay Secondary College in 1989), has generously given me an album of his photographs of the School during demolition in 1995, and numerous copies of the School Magazine “Sea Spray” – “Seaspray”. These items are a unique source of historical references.
Many former students have contributed their treasured “Sea Spray” Magazines, or provided their Magazines to be copied and returned to them. Another invaluable source of historic data.
My gratitude is expressed to the following people and organisations for their generous contributions and co-operation:
Judith Latta, Shirley Whiteway, Judith Whitaker, Judy Eames, Rob Hopcroft, Christine Cargill, Bob Tidball, Georgina Oxley, David Eden, Joan Miljoen, Kate Page, Rick Beaty, Laurie Luxmore, Wayne Thomas, Kerry Gregson, Helen Midler, David Bick, Graeme Seamer, Daryl Lyons, Phil Williamson, Doris Poole, Greg Holman, Robert Nixon, Peter Gill, Judy Irving (nee Farquharson), David Moxon, Elizabeth Lundstrom, Kurt Liffman, Debbie Hawke (nee Langtip), Ian Winduss, Pam Howard, Peter Gill, David Nassau, Karl Wakartschuk, John Izon, Paul Warren, Bryan Hellyer, Jon Roberts, Annette Donaldson, Valerie Oakley (nee Balmer), Dr. Graham Whitehead, Don Scott, Gary Dicken, Tony Hynes, Jenny Anfing, Claudette Earl, Louis Polgar, Norma Smith, Ian Linsell, Geoff Scott, Andrew McLean, John Lane, Gail Ryan, Michael Burge OAM FAPS, Geoff Flack, Kel Clarke, Trudy Scott, Geoff Burne, Graham Chapman, Michael Burge OAM, Michael Mace OAM, Cheryl Elizabeth Threadgold OAM and Phillip Dunn.
Brighton Historical Society, Sandringham and District Historical Society, Stephen Kelly of Beau Photos – South Concourse, Beaumaris, and the many book shop proprietors who have sold me copies of “Sea Spray” over the past ten years.
The willing and knowledgeable staff at the State Library of Victoria, the National Library of Australia, the Public Record Office of Victoria, and the Archivists at the Education Department of Victoria.
Shirley Joy.
